Midori’s Reading appearance is part of the Orchestra Residencies Program.
Midori’s concerts with the Reading Symphony Orchestra and the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra are part of her Orchestra Residencies Program, a special project which aims to strengthen the ties of the American youth orchestra to its local adult orchestra, as well as to bolster relationships with performers, staff, and the community-at-large.
The Youth Orchestra is Performing with Midori at this concert.
The excitement of opening night is doubled as the Concertmasters of Philadelphia and Baltimore Symphonies take the stage! Also a local premiere by Wiprud, a composer with Berks County ties!
The RSO welcomes another amazing soloist from recent engagements in New York and Israel to perform the Herculean Masterpiece, Brahms 2nd Piano Concerto.
Principal Trombone player, Bradley Ward of the Reading Symphony Orchestra takes center stage. Also the RSO strings play the lush sounds of Tchaikovsky—Serenade for Strings.
Nigel Armstrong recently came to international attention as the highest-ranked American prizewinner in the 14th Tchaikovsky International Competition. A Curtis protégé, he is dazzling audiences around the globe.
A night of sensual Russian music takes the stage. Pianist Wilson is sure to warm hearts with this amazing concerto.
The RSO brings a visual element of nature photography as they perform the music of Copland in this innovative, cutting edge program.
