Boscov’s Presents the Reading Symphony Orchestra’s
Beat Beethoven!

Here’s the challenge: On April 26, 2020 at 10:00 AM, The Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform a LIVE Concert including the music of Ludwig van Beethoven on the beautiful campus of Alvernia University, Reading, PA. At 10:00 AM sharp, the downbeat of the music will signal the start of the 10K and 5K Run/Walk. Approximate performance time: 62 min—10K; 31 min—5K. Can you complete the course before the Beethoven concert is finished and receive an “I Beat Beethoven” button???


Not a runner? Bring your lawn chair and come meet Beethoven while enjoying the FREE concert!
The pre-Race festivities begin at 9:30 AM.

Registration begins January 2020 online at the Pretzel City Sports website: www.pretzelcitysports.com or follow the link from the Reading Symphony Orchestra website: www.ReadingSymphony.org. You can also register by mail using the downloadable form here. Closing date and time to be guaranteed of the T-Shirt is 11:59 PM, April 11, 2020. One entry form per person.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
- The Race will take place on April 26 , 2020 at 10:00 AM sharp, rain or shine, on the campus of Alvernia University, Reading, PA.
- The wheel-measured course will be run on the varied terrain of Alvernia University campus as well as the adjoining Angelica Park. All surfaces are either macadam or gravel.
- Flexibility on which distance you choose to run; decide while on the course. That means you can start the 5K and continue on to complete the 10K or vice-versa.
- A 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk for adults and children (up to the age of 12) will take place at 11:15 AM. Everyone is encouraged to participate.
- Timing by Pretzel City Sports. Results to be posted on
www.pretzelcitysports.com by the end of the following day. - Free parking available on campus
- Water stations on the course
- Lead and sweep vehicle for each course
- Clean, portable restroom facilities
- Refreshments for all runners at the end of the race
- No bikes, dogs, or rollerblades
- Strollers allowed, but with caution, considering the mixed terrain
