The Gertrude Sternbergh Society was formed to honor one of the Reading Symphony’s greatest friends. For more than seventy years Gertrude Sternbergh provided an incomparable range of talents to the organization: as soloist, as community supporter, as board member, and as a financial angel. We remember her unmatched dedication through this Society, created to provide a bedrock of continuing financial support for her beloved Reading Symphony Orchestra. The Reading Symphony Orchestra’s Gold Chair program is designed to provide full funding for each of our individual musician chairs for a period of one season. Gold Chairs will be available or renewable annually on a first-come, first-serve basis with renewals granted first choice of chair selection.

Although new to the Reading Symphony, this concept of chair sponsorship has been used successfully by numerous orchestras throughout the United States. In addition to the long term financial benefits, the golden chairs will provide a visual reflection, right on stage, of our community’s support for our wonderful musicians.

Gold Chairs are sold by seat position. Please be aware that over the course of the season, chair positions may be filled by more than one individual musician as a result of changes in orchestra makeup from concert to concert.

Gold Chair sponsorships can be listed in your name, in honor of someone else, or as a memorial. If you would like to be a part of the Gold Chair Society, complete the attached pledge form.

• A golden lapel pin to wear proudly during RSO performances and events.
