The Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra (RSYO), under the current direction of Christopher Cinquini, has been providing classical orchestral performance and learning opportunities to advanced high school musicians from Berks County and beyond, including Chester, Montgomery, and Lancaster counties. Throughout its nearly 30 year history, hundreds of students have benefited from learning and performing advanced symphonic repertoire with like-minded peers under the guidance of skilled artistic leadership.

The RSYO performs an annual Holiday and spring concert, in addition to appearing with the Reading Symphony Orchestra at concerts throughout the season. The orchestra has traveled and performed in youth musical festivals throughout Virginia Beach, Boston, and Toronto. In 2000, the RSYO performed at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) annual meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The RSYO has additionally performed abroad with performances in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Prague, Italy, Vienna, and Budapest, and embarked on a performance tour of London in June 2018.
