The Reading Symphony Orchestra is pleased to welcome Bryan Sanguinito as the new
Conductor of the Reading Symphony Junior String Orchestra. A dedicated educator,
accomplished composer, and longtime advocate for music education, Sanguinito brings a wealth
of experience and enthusiasm to the program.
“I am honored to serve as the new Director of the Reading Symphony Junior String Orchestra,
fulfilling a career-long dream,” said Sanguinito.
Sanguinito began his teaching career in 1997, developing a comprehensive string orchestra
program for grades 4–12 in the Nazareth Area School District. In 2003, he joined the Reading
School District, where he has continued to inspire young musicians in grades 4–9.
In addition to his work in the classroom, Sanguinito is a published composer of educational
string orchestra music, with works released by leading publishers including Grand Mesa Strings,
C. Alan Publishing, LudwigMasters Publications, and Randall Standridge Music. Several of his
more than three dozen compositions and arrangements have been recognized as Editors’
Choice selections by J.W. Pepper, which named him “My Score Composer of the Month” in
March 2024.
His music has been performed nationally and internationally, including at the Midwest Clinic
International Band and Orchestra Festival and the American String Teachers Association
National Conference, as well as at honors festivals across the United States.
An active clinician, Sanguinito has presented workshops for organizations such as the
Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), sharing innovative approaches to teaching middle school orchestra students. He has also contributed to Dr. Michael Francis Smith’s Learn
to Play method series.
A graduate of Millersville University (cum laude), Sanguinito has also pursued studies at the
University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He resides in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Laura.
The Reading Symphony Orchestra looks forward to the leadership and artistic vision Maestro
Sanguinito will bring to the RS Junior String Orchestra as it continues to nurture and inspire the
next generation of musicians.
